Anti-Bullying Programs
Submitted by Saskatchewan Provincial Council
Whereas, The federal government has launched an anti-bullying awareness campaign; and
Whereas, Bullying in schools violates the human dignity of both victims and perpetrators and often leads to anti-social behaviours destructive to students, families and communities; and
Whereas, There are many serious, negative, long-term consequences for bullies, such as higher risk of criminal conviction, and for victims, such as depression, suicide and aggressive retaliation; therefore, be it
Resolved, That the national council of The Catholic Women’s League of Canada, in 82nd annual national convention assembled, urge League parish councils to encourage their school districts to implement comprehensive anti-bullying programs that involve parents, students, teachers, support staff and the community at large.
