Regina Diocesan President - Linda Maddaford

It is an honour to represent the Catholic Women’s League as Regina Diocesan president and member of the Provincial CWL council.

I became a member of the CWL in 2005 and embraced the vision and mission of the League with enthusiasm, serving as president for St. Francis Xavier council, Saskatoon, and president for St. Gerard council, Yorkton. I have served on diocesan council since 2018.

At the national level I served on two working groups for the Strategic Plan, the Catholic Social Teaching module from 2020 to 2022. and the Recruit Parish Leaders guide from 2023-2024.

I believe each of us are all called as catholic women, to fully live our faith, to direct our energy and efforts to the needs of our families, our communities and to be the greater good we hope to see in the world. The Catholic Women’s League is a beacon of the greater good.

Personal motto: “Bloom where you are planted.”

But the effect of her being on those around her was incalculably diffusive: for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs. Middlemarch, George Eliot.
