Rev Fr Peter Justine Nnanga, Msp

Rev Fr Peter Justine Nnanga, Msp is a Missionary priest from Nigeria (in West Africa). He belongs the Missionary Society of St Paul of Nigeria. He comes from Nto Edino in Obot Akara Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Southern Nigeria.  He was born on January 28th, 1974 to Late Mr. Justine Akpan Nnanga & Mrs Mary Justine Nnanga. Fr. Peter is the first child in a family of seven children. His mother and siblings are all in Nigeria.

  

After his Elementary/Primary School in 1989, he proceeded to St Kizito’s High School, Iwopin, Ogun State in 1990. He graduated from High School in 1995 and gained admission into the National Missionary Seminary of St.Paul in October, 1997, studying Philosophy and Theology.  On June 24th, 2006 Fr Peter was ordained a priest, in Abuja, Nigeria.

  

After his ordination, Fr Peter was sent to work as an Associate Cathedral Administrator at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cathedral, Itesi-Abeokuta in Abeokuta Diocese in Ogun State, Nigeria, from September 2006 to July 2007. During his one year service in the Diocese, he was appointed the Abeokuta Deanery CYON Chaplain (Catholic Youths Organization of Nigeria), a Deanery of five parishes in the city.   From there he was sent to the MSP Formation House at Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria where he taught and served as a Dean of Students’ Affairs, from September 2007 – July 2008. While working at the Formation House, he was appointed a Chaplain to St. Perpetua  Catholic Chaplaincy, Federal Girls College (FGGC), Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria (October 2007 – July 2008).

  
In September 2008, he was appointed Parish Priest of St Louis Catholic Church, Ijebu Ife, Ijebu Ode Diocese, Ogun State, Nigeria, where he worked until September 2013. While working in St Louis Parish, Fr Peter was chosen as the Esure Deanery Coordinator of the Layfaithful School of Faith Formation Program. He served as a secretary of the Committee on Burial Policy, Ijebu Ode Diocese. He served as the Chairperson of the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ijebu Ife. A position he held until he was transferred from Nigeria to Canada.     

Fr Peter Nnanga, Msp was sent to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Prince Albert, SK, Canada. He arrived in Canada at the end of March, 2014. He worked in St. Vital Parish, Battleford; St. Jean Baptiste de la Salle Parish, Delmas and Holy Spirit Parish, Maidstone, from April to June 2014, with Fr Greg Elder. In July 2014, he served as the interim Pastor of Notre Dame Parish, and St. Andre Apostre Parish, North Battleford. He was appointed Pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Paradise Hill, Holy Rosary Parish, Onion Lake, and St. James Parish, Thunderchild, from August 2014 to July 2015.

  

In August 2015, Fr. Peter was appointed Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, Spiritwood, St. Therese Parish, Leoville, St. Rita Parish, Medstead, Our Lady of Smiles, Shell Lake, and Our Lady of the Lake, Chitek Lake.  Fr Peter Nnanga, MSP is the Director of Promotions for MSP Canada Mission. He is also Secretary of the Clergy Study Day Committee, Prince Albert Diocese, SK.

  

In May of this year, Fr Peter Nnanga, MSP was appointed the Provincial CWL Spiritual Advisor, effective June 4, 2018.
