Audrey Zimmerman

Saskatoon Diocesan President

I am a third generation CWL member of 45 years.  In Englefeld, Sask. (where I grew up on a farm) almost all the ladies in our Catholic Church were members of the Holy Guardian Angels CWL. When I was asked, I said yes, I’ll join!   I had wonderful CWL mentors with my mom and aunt being very involved and very hard-working women of great faith. My next door neighbour, Theresa Wacholtz, became parish president and then Diocesan president and took me with her to many CWL events. There were many other mentors whom I hold in high regard who have inspired and helped me along my CWL as well as my faith journey.

My husband and I married in 1973 and have been blessed with four children and 12 grandchildren. We lived on a farm west of St. Gregor until the spring of 1976 when we purchased my parents farm where we live today.   Here I am back in the same house I grew up in!

I was a stay-at-home mom until 1988 when I started a 25-year career in housekeeping at a long-term care home. I love people so I really loved working there, getting to know the elderly and meeting their families and of course the friendships formed with my coworkers. One of the highlights of my time there was a volunteer position I had in the building and completion of a safe garden area for the residents, their families, and the staff at the care home.

My interests include volunteering, quilting, sewing, reading, gardening, and attending as many of my grandchildren’s activities as I am able.

I look forward to meeting many more faith filled women as I continue my CWL journey.
